2005 Cabernet Sauvignon
20-Jul-2005

Mike Press 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon

Well as you know the 05 Shiraz sold out quickly and we have had some wonderful feedback not to mention gained some great new customers! With all the medals and due to your demand we have changed from cleanskins to labels and it seems to have met with your approval.

The 05 Cabernet Sauvignon was recently independently tasted by a panel of consumers and winemakers, as a “masked wine”. It was assessed as retailing for $35-$40 per bottle. We sell it
directly to you for $10.

The Sauvignon Blanc is back on the list and the vintage in 07 was smaller but with intense fruit, the same with the chardonnay, the fruit really stands out!

The 06 Shiraz is on its way to the major wine shows so hopefully it will fare well.

The 05 Merlot is outstanding and will be released later in the year.

The 07 Vintage for us here at Kenton Valley was very good and we were lucky enough to have a good supply of water and no frost. Once again thank you for your support and don’t forget to mention us to your friends! And remember, life is to short to drink bad wine!

Best regards Mike and Judy

After 40 years of winemaking Mike Press reckons the three reds he made from the 2005 vintage at his Kenton Valley vineyards
are the best drops he has ever made.

That’s saying something from a man who was trained by
Grange legend Max Schubert.

The trio of reds notched seven gold medals and three trophies including a rare brace at the Royal Melbourne wine show and a talk-of-the-show pair at Adelaide Hills Wine Show.
